Construction broke ground in December 2021 on Gulfshore Playhouse, a theater in Naples, Florida. The venture’s been in the works for years, and finally, it’s one step closer to being a reality. It will began when benefactors Patty and Joe Baker began the “Next Stage Campaign” five years ago, donating $10 million to jumpstart the venture.
The project will cost about $60 million to complete, 90 percent of which was raised as of December 2021. Gulfshore Playhouse will offer 40,000 square feet of new construction, featuring 350 mainstage seats. The structure itself will measure two to three stories above grade.
But that’s not all. Amenities include a 150-seat studio theater, education wing, rooftop terrace, bar and cafe, and rehearsal space for performers. Naples Daily News also notes that plans include a founder’s lounge.
Gulfshore Playhouse is expected to finish construction in Fall 2023. Arquitectonica Headquarters is the architect and released conceptual renderings online. These images show designs true to Arquitectonica Headquarters’ visions––an upscale, modern theatre with marble floors and an avant-garde facade.
Other entities on the project include Gilbane Building Company (the general contractor) and the Projects Group (the construction manager as agent). Gulfshore Playhouse’s address is 100-300 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples, Florida, in Collier County.
