The Related Group, one of South Florida’s most active condo developers, and Merrimac Ventures, led by the Motwani Brothers, have teamed up for the development of The Crosby, a 31-story residential tower announced to rise at 601 North Miami Avenue within the 27-acre Miami Worldcenter complex. The project is comprised of 450 fully furnished units ranging between 350 square feet to 825 square feet, configured in studio, one-bedroom and two bedroom floor plans; over 22,000 square feet of amenities and 4,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space. Residences at The Crosby will have no rental restrictions, meaning owners will have the option to offer their units as short-term rentals. Miami Lakes-based Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates, the architect behind the 43-story Caoba tower, is leading the design with New York City-based AvroKO named as the interior designer.
Plans have been filed with the Development Review Committee for 10 Hendricks Isle, a 5-story marina-front residential condominium building located in Fort Lauderdale. Designed by FSMY Architects + Planners and developed by Hendricks Group LLC, the proposal includes the construction of a 55-foot-tall structure with situated on a 30,000-square-foot parcel of land, projected to yield 52,440 square feet of space including 16 dwelling units and 35 parking spaces. The property is located just off of Las Olas Boulevard in between Venice Isle and Nurm Isles. Botek Thurlow Engineering, Inc. is listed as the civil engineer with Barranco-RLA, Inc. as the landscape architect.
Several concrete core walls have been erected at Bayfront On Sand Lake, a multi-family luxury residential apartment community under construction at 10900 Turkey Lake Road in Dr. Phillips, Orlando. Designed by Winter Park-based FK Architecture and being developed by Macomb Oakland Sand Lake LLC, an entity owned and managed by real estate developer Mickey Shapiro, the project is comprised of the development of several 4-story lake-front apartment buildings across 16.54-acres of land in between Big Sand Lake and Interstate 4. Development plans filed with the city indicate the community will yield up to to 376 dwelling units.
Earlier this year, YIMBY revealed renderings for two new mixed-use towers proposed to rise immediately south of the Douglas Road Metrorail Station in Coral Gables, Miami. The project, representing the second and final phase of the transit-oriented Link at Douglas complex, is envisioned as twin 444-foot-tall, 39-story buildings joint by a shared podium comprised of 1.12 million square feet of space, which would contain a blend of residential, office, commercial and parking spaces. At completion, the tower would become the tallest south of Brickell. Developers Adler Group and 13th Floor Investments have released updated renderings of the planned development, further revealing new designs from Arquitectonica. Miami’s Coral Gables neighborhood has been experiencing an uptick in active transit-oriented residential, office and mixed-use construction projects. Architectural designer and urban planner Aaron DeMayo recently photographed the area from above, capturing the immense amount of on-going construction and recently completed developments surrounding the Douglas Road Metrorail Station parallel to South Dixie Highway (US Highway 1) between Southwest 37th and 38th Avenues. Below are a number of relative major projects in the area varying in stages of construction, as well as a few that were recently completed.
