Strazzera Village Planned Development (known in some documents as “VPD”) is unfolding in Sarasota, Florida. The venture will comprise 1,021 homes on a 439-acre lot, according to Sarasota County records. That’s about 2.29 homes per acre.
Planners have designed VPD to be a walkable community that incorporates many of Southwestern Florida’s natural features. Those features include wetlands, canals, and conservation areas. It takes about a half-hour to walk from one side of VPD to the other.
Records demonstrate that the multi-million-dollar housing complex will be divided into two neighborhoods. There are more than four home layout plans, with a minimum of three different options in each neighborhood. Homes vary from two-story affordable housing units to multifamily units. Plans suggest that there is one estate home on the premises.
Sources report that construction could start on the venture in early 2024. Neal Communities of Southwest Florida LLC is the owner, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is the civil engineer. Conceptual renderings from public offices show that amenities include a “village center” on the east side of the property. There are also five neighborhood centers.
Strazzera Village Planned Development will be located along Ibis Street and Clark Road in Sarasota, Florida, 34241, in Sarasota County.
