The new Okaloosa Gas District headquarters recently reached completion, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on January 14 at the campus in Valparaiso, Florida, located at 364 Valparaiso Parkway. Situated on a 13.5-acre site at the entrance to the city along Government Avenue and Valparaiso Parkway, the development replaces a collection of former district buildings, some dating back to 1953, that had outlived their operational usefulness. The project was designed by DAG Architects, with Robins & Morton serving as the general contractor.

The completed campus is anchored by a four-story, 152,000-square-foot office building that houses administrative and executive functions for Okaloosa Gas District. Supporting facilities include an 18,400-square-foot operations center, a 7,200-square-foot vehicle maintenance building, and a 23,540-square-foot warehouse, allowing the utility provider to consolidate staff, equipment, and logistics into a single centralized location serving communities across the Florida Panhandle.

In addition to office and operational space, the headquarters incorporates both interior and exterior areas intended to support public engagement and internal collaboration. Large outdoor gathering spaces are integrated into the site plan, while interior areas are designed to accommodate meetings and community events. Kitchen and catering facilities are included to support daily operations as well as hosted functions, reflecting the district’s role as a public-serving utility and community presence.

Site planning emphasizes functionality and long-term adaptability, with building placements organized to separate administrative activities from fleet operations and maintenance functions. The inclusion of a dedicated vehicle maintenance facility and warehouse supports operational efficiency while reducing reliance on off-site facilities. The expansive site also allows for future flexibility as service demands evolve.
