Construction has started on a Habitat for Humanity community in Pinellas County. Our sources report that the homes are part of the larger residential project unfolding across from Lealman Elementary School.
Lealman Heights is expected to yield 26 two-story townhomes. They will each feature three bedrooms and a garage. Homes will measure approximately 1,500 square feet and be priced from $240,000 to $280,000 – depending on homeowners’ income.
Per Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership program, qualifying homeowners must invest at least 100 sweat equity hours within a year, attend homeowner education courses, and have a credit score of at least 620. Additionally, homes will be reserved for households earning between 30 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI).

In total, Lealman Heights is expected to cost $10 million to build. Pinellas County has contributed $2.29 million to the venture. The County also placed the property in a community land trust to ensure its affordability in the upcoming decades.
Vertical construction is anticipated to start in summer 2027 and finish the following year. Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside is the developer. Other members of the development team include G2 Design and High Point Engineering.
Lealman Heights is unfolding at 4000 58th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33714, in Pinellas County.
