Construction has topped out on a six-story, 127,033-square-foot medical office building at Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The project is designed by The Beck Group in collaboration with DMZ Architects, with DPR Construction serving as the general contractor. Broward Health is developing the facility in collaboration with Remedy Medical Properties, a national owner of outpatient medical real estate. The building is expected to open in 2027.

The milestone was marked by a topping-out ceremony celebrating the placement of the final structural beam at the building’s highest point. Broward Health executives, local officials, and members of the construction team signed the beam before it was hoisted into position, accompanied by a palm tree and an American flag in keeping with construction industry tradition.

The new facility will accommodate outpatient medical services, including cardiovascular, neuroscience, and orthopedic care, along with additional specialty clinics and affiliated physician practices. The building will initially contain 75 examination rooms, with infrastructure designed to support an expansion to 123 rooms as demand increases.

“This building reinforces our commitment to expand access to specialty care across our community,” said Shane Strum, President and CEO of Broward Health. “As our first medical office building in nearly three decades, this project represents a generational investment in the people we serve and the future of care in north Broward.”

With the superstructure now topped out, construction is transitioning toward the installation of prefabricated exterior panels. The next phase will advance enclosure work on the six-story structure as the project moves toward its anticipated opening.

“We are proud of our construction partners for achieving this milestone in record time,” said David Clark, senior vice president of operations at Broward Health. “With the structure topped out, the construction team is preparing to install prefabricated panels.”

Completion and opening are anticipated in 2027.
