As it stands, Clearview Park Apartments in St. Petersburg hosts 22 garden-style apartments built in the early 1980s. However, a new initiative is in the works to expand the community’s density by 194 percent.
Plans call for renovating 18 of the existing apartments and demolishing four to make way for 46 new apartments in a four-story building. There would be two floorplans: one-bedroom/one-bathroom units and two-bedroom/two-bathroom units. Preference would be given to seniors, although the specific income parameters have not been formally specified. The homes themselves would measure 680 to about 920 square feet.
Pinellas County’s median income was $72,600 from 2020 to 2024.

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is leading the project. The organization estimates the renovations of Clearview Park Apartments to cost $13 million. If the project is able to get funding from various entities, construction could start in late 2027 or early 2028.
Members of the project’s development team include Trouble Creek Road Development and MLK Architecture; a general contractor has not yet been selected. The SPHA will manage the community after the completion of the new apartments.
Clearview Park Apartments is located at 3200 37th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33713, in Pinellas County.
