Miami Riverbridge Gains Unanimous Approval from City of Miami Urban Development Review Board

The redevelopment plans for Downtown Miami’s Hyatt Regency site have received unanimous approval from the City of Miami Urban Development Review Board. The updated project plans for Miami Riverbridge, presented by Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Miami’s Gencom under HRM Owner, LLC, were approved without any conditions at the board hearing. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with an anticipated opening in 2030.

Developers Unveil Plans For $1B Southland Mall Redevelopment In Cutler Bay, Miami-Dade County

Electra America, a real estate private equity firm, along with its U.S.-affiliate, American Landmark, and BH Group, a Miami-based private real estate investment, and development firm, has unveiled preliminary plans for the redevelopment and revitalization of the Southland Mall in Cutler Bay, located at 20505 South Dixie Highway, approximately 20 miles south of downtown Miami. The 80-acre, $1 billion redevelopment will be one of the most significant projects of its kind in the Southeast and be called Southplace City Center, designed and master planned by MSA Architects Inc. with Insite Studio as the landscape architect, Kimley Horn as the civil/traffic engineer, CPH for retail consulting, and Florida Economic Advisors for economic consulting.

AIMCO Plans 3-Million-Square-Foot Development At Former Sears Site In Fort Lauderdale

Denver-based real estate developer AIMCO has acquired a 5.7-acre piece of property at 901 North Federal Highway in Flagler Village, Fort Lauderdale, the former Searstown site which once thrived as a retail anchor for the neighborhood, lasting 66 years in business. The previous owner, RK Associates, an affiliate of Sunny Isles Beach-based RK Centers led by Miami Heat co-owner Raanan Katz, sold the site for $64 million. The 155,760-square-foot retail space on-site is slated for demolition and redevelopment.
