Right now, Green and Blue Diamonds are Miami Beach’s tallest buildings, rising 502 feet above grade. Yet, a taller building is underway: Five Park. Per the Next Miami, the tower will measure 546 feet above ground and comprise 337 residential units. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the building’s height in late 2020.
The Construction Journal reports that the $150 million venture will require 300,000 square feet of new construction and include retail stores, a “beach facility,” and a marina. It will also have a 577-space parking garage.
Initially, Five Park was going to exceed 546 feet. However, after seeking approvals for nearly a year, Terra Group (the building’s owner), was able to reach a compromise with the City of Miami, as well as the FAA.
Next to the venture is a three-acre park that includes a “botanical garden, dog park, fitness area, event lawn, art pavilion, and kids’ zone,” according to Arquitectonica Geo. The park is a huge selling point for prospective residents.
Construction began on the mixed-use venture earlier in 2021. Hopefully, it will commence operations within the next few years. Moss & Associates is the project’s general contractor, presently overseeing 20 active projects.
The Five Park’s location is listed as 500 Alton Road, Miami Beach, FL, 33139. It will be located in Miami-Dade County.
