A new apartment complex is coming soon to Sarasota, Florida. Palm Aire Apartments will comprise seven mid-rise buildings, containing over 300 units. In total, the community will require over 700,000 square feet of new construction; each building will measure 112,565 square feet. Additionally, plans are underway for a new parking garage.
According to YourObserver.com, the complex was initially set aside to be affordable housing. However, after much consideration, Palm Aire Apartments is now a luxury residential complex. The 32-acre site will include communal areas and outdoor amenities, like pools and a clubhouse.
There are some concerns about the project, though. The future development is on Rattlesnake Slough, which is prone to flooding. Civil engineers are working to counteract any problems that could impair residents’ quality of life and buildings’ integrity. Some Sarasota residents have voiced their concerns about the project moving forward.
Per the Construction Journal, the project has been in the works since 2020. Right now, the endeavor’s presently in its post-bidding stage. It’s also owned by Sarasota Palm Aire LLC, which has two active projects right now. We’re not sure when the project will start or finish construction. Considering the endeavor, it could take anywhere from one to three years.
Palm Aire Apartments will be located in 4831 Whitfield Avenue, Sarasota, FL, 34243. It will be located in Manatee County.
