The James Arthur Court Nears Completion at 1055 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach, Florida

The James Arthur Court in Vero Beach, Florida, is nearing completion. The 1.47-acre property was previously home to the Courtyard Villas, which served as a popular motel in the 1950s and 1960s. Now, the premises will soon offer 20 residential units intended for low-income veterans.

McLaughlin Properties LLC acquired the property for $1 million in 2017, per VeroBeach.com. The organization is committed to providing stable housing to veterans in the area. The James Arthur Court is actually named for the owner’s father and father-in-law, both veterans.

The 1.47-acre community is aimed toward low-income veterans in Vero Beach, Florida.

The premises requires more than 24,000 square feet of new construction. Records from the City of Vero Beach notes that the 20 units will be housed in a two-story building.

Atelier d’Architecture designed the venture, drawing inspiration from West Indies-style architecture. Each unit, measuring more than 900 square feet, comes with a living room, fully-equipped kitchen, bedroom, shower, and porch. Each unit also comes with a bed and TV, thanks to donations from Consignment Gallery, Mattress Market, and Hinge.

McLaughlin Properties LLC isn’t only the owner; it’s also the general contractor. Involved entities on James Arthur Court include Todd N Smith, PE (the civil engineer) and DDC Engineering, Inc. (the MEP engineer).

Construction’s slated to end in the second quarter of 2022. The James Arthur Court’s address is 1055 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960, in Indian River County.
