Foundation Permits Issued For Waldorf Astoria Hotel And Residences At 300 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami’s First Supertall Skyscraper

Foundation permits have been issued for 300 Biscayne Boulevard, the site of the upcoming 100-story Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, the first supertall skyscraper to be developed in Miami. The project’s developers, Property Markets Group, Greybrook Realty Partners, S2 Development and Mohari Hospitality, were officially issued permits to begin foundation work on March 23, 2022, and Keller North America Inc. is listed as contractor. The scope of work involves site and soil improvements on the 43,791-square-foot development site with a price tag of $5,165,000. The permits expire on November 19, 2022, meaning ground breaking is likely to occur in the coming months.

Plans for the tallest residential and hotel building south of New York City comprise a 1,049-foot-tall mixed-use structure built of 9 stacked offset glass cubes including 360 branded luxury residences of 1-to 4 bedrooms, and a 5-star hotel with 205 fully finished and furnished junior suites. Residents and guests would have access to unobstructed views of the Downtown area, Miami Beach and Atlantic Ocean. All residences will have interiors designed by award-winning interior design firm BAMO.

Signature spaces will include Peacock Alley; a specialty restaurant; indoor/outdoor pre-function and function spaces; meetings and boardrooms; a resort-style pool deck with private cabanas; and a spa and fitness center. The developers have onboarded CHM Structural Engineers LLC for structural engineering, MG Engineering is the MEP engineering, and GRAEF is listed as engineer as well. EGS2 will be the landscape architect. Sieger Suarez Architects designed the project in collaboration with Carlos Ott. John Moriarty & Associates of Florida Inc. is the general contractor.

The application for vertical construction permits no longer appears on the permitting site. The developers will likely apply again in the near future

 Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences is on track to complete construction in 2025.

  1. Designed for Catergory 5 Hurricanes. Arrival by boat in 2050 one would presume.
    Climate change is not forgiving and building this will be the ultimate challenge.

    • I don’t know. Al Gore said all of the glaciers would be melted by 2010 so if that happens there could be problems.
