Lennar Homes hopes to move forward with a new housing development in Homestead, Florida. Meet Altimira. The multi-million-dollar community will offer more than 1,000 homes, including villas, single-family homes, and townhouses. The Real Deal notes that plans call for 385 single-family homes, 480 townhomes, and 491 villas.
The 350-acre venture also includes a shuttered golf course. The golf course will feature a putting green, mini golf course, driving range, and golf pro shop. The venture also involves adding a new fitness center to an already-existing clubhouse. The South Florida Business Journal reports that the owner of the golf course closed the venture because it wasn’t financially viable.
As noted, Lennar Homes owns Altimira. It’s also serving as the general contractor. The South Florida Business Journal notes that many real estate firms are looking to renovate defunct golf courses into housing developments. It also notes that more people are moving to Homestead, since housing prices in Miami are skyrocketing.
Altimira isn’t the only project Lennar Homes has in the works right now. Lennar Homes presently has 10 active projects, including Pine Vista, which is also located in Homestead, Florida. The venture will offer more than 450 residential homes.
Altimira’s address is 1800 Palm Drive, Homestead, Florida, 33035, in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
