Calder Casino is one of the most popular attractions in Miami Gardens, Florida. Now, developers hope to start construction on a $700 million mixed-use venture. Calder Casino Industrial Park will require more than 2.3 million square feet of new construction.
The Real Deal reports that the development will feature 12 buildings on a 115.7-acre lot. It’ll feature warehouses, distribution centers, and “radio, movie and TV studios, and music production spaces.” The South Florida Business Journal notes that if the project comes to fruition, it could create 2,500 construction jobs and 2,300 permanent jobs.
The project will be completed in two phases. Construction could start in either late 2022 or early 2023. The Construction Journal estimates that construction will not start before the end of 2022. The entire project will not finish completion until 2025. Sources report that Calder Casino sold the build site to Link Logistics in 2022 for $291 million.
Recently, Link Logistics abandoned Gramercy Warehouse/Distribution Center, another project it had in the pipeline. It’s unclear why the project was abandoned, and it’s also unclear whether the project will be revived in the future.
Calder Casino Industrial Park’s address is 21001 Northwest 27th Avenue, Miami Gardens, Florida, 33056, in Miami-Dade County. Google Earth’s renderings suggest that the development will be built where Calder Casino used to have horse races.
