A restaurant and hotel will soon make way for a mixed-use venture in North Bay Village, Florida. The 2.31-acre build site will host a 30-story tower with 345 apartments. Out of that number, about 5.2 percent of all units (roughly 18) will be set aside as workforce housing.
The South Florida Business Journal reports that units will range from 564 square feet to 1,130 square feet each. Layout options include studios, one-bedroom units, and two-bedroom units. Residential amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, game room, lounge, and hot tub.
In addition to the residences, plans also call for electric vehicle charging stations, more than 19,000 square feet of commercial space, and 7,500 square feet of meeting space. There will also be a six-floor hotel with 273 rooms. At this time, the hotel doesn’t have a brand. Yet, the waterfront hotel’s amenities include two swimming pools, a gym/spa, a lounge, a restaurant, and a ballroom.
Jesta Group, a Canada-based firm, is managing the project. It told media outlets that the current on-site restaurant (Shucker’s) will find space in the new development. Kobi Karp Architecture is the designer. Sources list the unnamed development’s address as 1819 79th Street, North Bay Village, Florida, 33138, in Miami-Dade County.
