Victory Coast LLC has proposed Citrus Cabanas, a short-term rental development in Clermont, Florida. The project, estimated to cost anywhere from $2 million to $3 million, will comprise eight cottages and a renovated bed and breakfast.
This will all rest on a build site measuring .52 acres and require the redevelopment of the Mulberry Inn, which was built in 1890. The proposed development secured approval from Clermont city officials on June 13th. It must secure approval from the Clermont City Council and the general public to move forward.
That meeting will take place on June 29. Darren Johnson, the developer, told sources that, if approved, he would partner with Cornerstone Tiny Homes to build the cottages. The cottages themselves will measure around 500 square feet each, featuring a bedroom, kitchen, and in-home washers/dryers. Powell Studio Architecture is the architect.
Once construction starts, it could take anywhere from nine to 12 months to complete. This means, if the project secures approval this June, homes could become available as early as next year. Citrus Cabanas could soon take shape at 915 W. Montrose Street, Clermont, Florida, 34711, in Lake County. It would be south of the Lake Hiawatha Preserve.
