Westmoreland Square Planned for West Colonial Drive and North Westmoreland Drive in Orlando, Florida

Westmoreland Square is a mixed-use venture taking shape in Orlando, Florida. The venture will comprise 115 apartments, along with more than 2,300 square feet of retail and 4,400 square feet of retail/commercial space. The complex could require more than 50,000 square feet of new construction.

The Orlando Business Journal reports that the six-story venture was originally to offer 36 hotel rooms, along with residential and commercial ventures. Those plans were revised to eliminate the hotel rooms. Westmoreland Square could cost $30 million to complete and rests on a build site measuring about 1.3 acres.

The venture will be located on the southwest corner of West Colonial Drive and North Westmoreland Drive in Orlando, Florida.

Z Development Services is the civil engineer. Bob Ziegenfuss, the organization’s president, noted that shovels could be in the ground by early 2024. Rabits & Romano Architecture designed the venture. As of March 2023, developers were taking bids from general contractors.

Westmoreland Square is important because it’s one of many evolving mixed-use in-fill developments. These projects occupy unused space in urban developments to meet growing demand for accessible housing. The Orlando Business Journal notes that the project could draw more investors to the region, in addition to offering housing.

Westmoreland Square us located on the southwest corner of West Colonial Drive and North Westmoreland Drive in Orlando, Florida, 32804, in Orange County.
