In response to the growing demand for educational facilities in South Florida, Fortec, a Miami-based real estate development company dedicated to revitalizing urban neighborhoods through purpose-built educational projects that foster community growth, joined forces with Higher Ground Education, the world’s largest and fastest-growing network of Montessori schools. Together, they, along with Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 12, to mark the inauguration of two new schools housed within the same 17,000-square-foot building: Guidepost Montessori and the Academy of Thought and Industry at Hollywood Beach East campus. These schools will collectively serve over 150 students from pre-K to middle and high school levels.
Pablo Barreiro, Chairman of Fortec, Martin Saidon, CEO and Co-Founder of Fortec, and Ray Girn, CEO of Higher Ground Education, were joined by Mayor Josh Levy, community leaders, parents, and students to commemorate this significant milestone in the neighborhood.
Higher Ground Education is on a mission to bring profoundly innovative educational programs to children from infancy through middle and high school, and its footprint is expanding to serve more communities in South Florida. Under a 20-year lease agreement with Fortec, Higher Ground Education will operate these centers located at 2216 Hollywood Boulevard, marking the launch of its third Montessori school in the region. This network ensures that students can access high-quality Montessori education from as early as 18 months old through 12th grade.
Fortec has actively collaborated on 12 projects nationwide with Higher Ground Education to meet the surging demand in the past three years.
