Mariners Bay Condo, a 46-unit complex in North Miami, could be replaced with a 489,179-square-foot condo. The unnamed development would measure 20 stories above grade and offer 267 units total.
Per the Real Deal, there would be 12 townhomes, along with one-bedroom to three-bedroom condos. Along with 422 parking spots, the community would offer a host of amenities, including a fifth-floor swimming pool, fitness center, spa, children’s playroom, and media room.
Plans also call for the redevelopment of the on-site 20-slip marina. Per the South Florida Business Journal, the 20-story high-rise would occupy a 4.3-acre build site that developer Continuum Cos. purchased for an undisclosed amount.
Our sources indicate that the already-existing Mariners Bay Condo (which was built in the 1980s) required several repairs to meet its 40-year certification renewal. At the time of publication, 75 percent of owners had signed off on their homes’ termination.
More stringent building code regulations have followed in the aftermath of the infamous Surfside collapse––prompting the Mariners Bay Condo exodus. If the 267-unit project gets approval, it would occupy 12000 N. Bayshore Drive, North Miami, Florida, 33181, in Miami-Dade County.
The development would lie south of Oleta State Park and east of I-95.
