Following a tense legal battle that stalled construction, The Morgan Group is one step closer to completing Anclote Harbor Apartments, a riverfront residential development in Tarpon Springs. The Houston-based firm recently closed on 74 acres and secured a $67.7 construction loan to help make the project possible.

Upon completion, Anclote Harbor Apartments will offer 404 one-bedroom to three-bedroom rental units, spread amongst five four-story buildings. In September 2024, city officials approved a rezoning request that changed 22 acres of commercial space to preservation space and 14.6 acres from commercial to recreation/open space.

The garden-style community will have many on-site communal amenities including a dog park, outdoor grilling areas, and children’s playground. Plans also call for a 2,000-square-foot fitness center and 10,000-square-foot clubhouse, according to the venture’s website. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the developer hopes to start vertical construction in 2025.

Our July 2022 report noted that Altamonte Springs-based Forum Architecture & Interior Design, Inc. designed the at-rate-market venture. Kimley Horn is operating as the civil engineer.

Anclote Harbor Apartments is planned for 42501 US HWY 19 N, Tarpon Springs, Florida, 34689, in Pinellas County. The parcel was previously slated for a Walmart Supercenter in 2005, but those plans never came to fruition.
