The third phase of a student housing community simply known as “Residence Hall” has finished construction in Lakeland. The community, made possible by a partnership between Capstone Development and Florida Polytechnic University, started construction in spring 2023.

Today, the five-story addition hosts an array of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and four-bedroom floorplans, featuring 430 beds. Multi-Housing News reports that communal amenities at Residence Hall include a study spaces, a multi-purpose room, and various lounges. Students residing in the dormitory will also have access to the college’s other on-site amenities.

The mid-rise venture was made possible with the security of “$76 million in tax-exempt revenue bonds from the State University System, insured by Build America Mutual.” The funding also allowed the developer to acquired Residence Hall II.

Florida YIMBY has reported on other college-related developments aside from Florida Polytechnic University’s newest addition. This past August, we shared that Palm Beach Atlantic University shared plans for a 25-story dormitory, occupying a 1.71-acre site and replacing a 3,852-square-foot visual arts building.

We reported that the high-rise would comprise 275 rooms, allowing for 990 beds. Plans also called for an 11-story parking garage with 906 spots, along with more than 15,000 square feet of dining space on the building’s lower two floors.

Florida Polytechnic University’s campus is located at 4700 Research Way, Polk City, FL, 33868, in Polk County.
