Pier Sixty-Six, a prominent fixture in Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront, is undergoing a transformative redevelopment spearheaded by Tavistock Development Company. Established in the 1950s as a Phillips 66 Petroleum fuel dock, the site became a landmark in the 1960s with the construction of its iconic spire tower. Now reimagined as a 32-acre luxury destination, Pier Sixty-Six blends residential, hospitality, and marina experiences in what will be a defining addition to Fort Lauderdale’s coastline.

The development team has unveiled the first images of Azul, an 11-story waterfront building that marks a milestone for Fort Lauderdale as the first to feature private plunge pools on its expansive 900+ square-foot curved terraces. Designed to evoke the appearance of a coral reef, Azul introduces 29 corner residences with wraparound terraces offering sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean, and city skyline.

The development introduces 88 residences across four buildings, with prices ranging from $3.85 million to $15 million. Designed by South Florida-based Garciastromberg, the project will include one of the largest superyacht marinas on the eastern seaboard, featuring 5,000 linear feet of dockage and 164 slips for vessels up to 400 feet. The project also includes a 325-room resort, a historically preserved rotating cocktail lounge, a 13,000-square-foot spa with the region’s first snow room, and 12 restaurants and bars. This redevelopment marks the first time real estate ownership opportunities have been offered in the 60-year history of Pier Sixty-Six.

“Azul at Pier Sixty-Six Residences marks a series of firsts for Fort Lauderdale, from its sweeping coral-reef-inspired design to being the city’s first building with private plunge pools on each terrace overlooking the Intracoastal,” said Amy Ballon, director of sales at Tavistock Development Company. “As the first ownership opportunity at the historic Pier Sixty-Six, we eagerly anticipate completing the project by year’s end and welcoming our residents home.”

Azul is the first residential structure nearing completion within the redevelopment. Residences range from three to five bedrooms and include private plunge pools, expansive wraparound terraces, chef-inspired kitchens, custom Italian cabinetry, 10-foot ceilings, and hand-selected chrome fixtures. Each unit also offers direct elevator access for enhanced privacy.

One of the standout residences, owned and designed by Steven Gurowitz of Interiors by Steven G., spans 3,830 square feet and includes three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and a powder room. This unit highlights Pier Sixty-Six’s attention to detail, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic views of the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean, and Fort Lauderdale skyline.

Residents can access Pier Sixty-Six Resort’s amenities, including the Zenova Spa and Wellness, numerous dining options, and the extensive marina. Construction of the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, and the redevelopment will continue to solidify Fort Lauderdale’s position as a destination for luxury living and yachting.
