Sky Town (formerly known as “Skyway Village”) will now include affordable housing options. Upon completion, the mixed-use venture will yield 2,084 apartments divided amongst six five-story buildings. The first phase will feature 401 homes, 30 percent of which (121 units) will be designated as affordable housing. Sixty will be reserved for residents earning up to 80 percent of the area median income, (AMI), while another 61 units will be for residents earning up to 120 percent of the AMI.

According to Pinellas County, affordable housing refers to units priced at or below the AMI, generally between 30 to 80 percent. Presently, this would be $76,400 for a four-person household and $53,500 for a single person. Sky Town’s first phase will cost $120.38 million to build, with Pinellas County offering funds.

St. Pete Rising reports that, at large, Sky Town will feature retail, office, self-storage, and parking space, with the entire project itself occupying a 34.2-acre lot. More specifically, there will be more than 80,000 square feet of retail, with some of that square footage occupied by a 23,000-square-foot Sprouts Farmer’s Market that’s currently under construction.

The first phase of Sky Town is expected to finish construction by the fourth quarter of 2026 at 3201 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL, 33711, in Pinellas County.
