Two developers are proceeding with a townhome community in southwestern Florida.
Townes at Island Lake will comprise 40 units; the two-story, three-bedroom homes will feature quartz countertops, integrated smart home technology, and stainless-steel appliances. Residences will measure 1,463 square feet and offer open-concept floorplans to allow owners creative freedom with the space. The homes also offer space for three vehicles: one in the garage, two more in the driveway.

D.R. Horton and HP Capital Group are working together to make the project possible. St. Pete Rising reports that Townes at Island Lake is slated to occupy a 2.76-acre property. Now that horizontal construction has finished, vertical construction is now underway.
At the time of publication, our sources did not list a price for the homes, yet they revealed that pre-sales are expected to start early next year. Construction could conclude in either 2026 or the following year––most likely the former.
Townes at Island Lake is just one project between D.R. Horton and HP Capital Group. The pair have many similar projects in their pipeline, one of which is a 72-unit affordable housing community in St. Petersburg.
