A six-story office and retail building within Tampa’s Gasworx district has officially topped out, marking a key construction milestone for the large-scale redevelopment taking shape in Ybor City. The 145,000-square-foot structure, built by Moss Construction, will serve as the future headquarters for Grow Financial and introduce new office and retail space to one of Tampa’s most historic neighborhoods.

Designed by S9 Architecture with Smallwood serving as the architect of record, the building combines contemporary architecture with design elements inspired by Ybor City’s industrial and cultural heritage. Located within the Barrio Latino Historic District, the development features 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail intended to enhance street-level activity and connectivity throughout the district.

Future tenants and visitors will have access to a rooftop deck, outdoor terraces, a modern conference facility, and a lobby café and bar that connects directly to Gasworx’s emerging retail and dining corridor. Grow Financial has pre-leased approximately half of the building, ensuring a steady daytime presence of workers and visitors upon completion.

“Our workers have been steadfast in their dedication to reach this stage, and when complete, this building will be an instrumental piece of the Gasworx vision,” said Toby Manulak, Senior Vice President of Moss’ Mid-Florida Region. “Topping out ceremonies are always a proud moment for Moss, but this one is especially meaningful, as our work will help bring renewed energy into this historic district.”

The office project forms part of the broader Gasworx master plan, led by KETTLER in partnership with developer Darryl Shaw and PPF Group. Encompassing approximately 50 acres, Gasworx will deliver thousands of residential units, new office and retail space, a city park, pedestrian-oriented streets, and a new TECO Streetcar stop connecting to Downtown Tampa.

“The progress at Gasworx is now becoming visible at scale,” said Graham Tyrrell, Managing Director – Florida at KETTLER. “With this office building and neighboring housing portions of the project coming to life, the grand vision for Gasworx is coming into focus. We are creating a sought-after district that will reflect both the rich history of Ybor City and the vibrant future of Tampa.”

In addition to the office building, Moss is constructing Olivette, a nearby mixed-use development featuring 376 residential units and nearly 30,000 square feet of retail space. Completion of the office building is expected in 2026.
