Riverside Wharf breaks ground today in Downtown Miami. Developed by MV Real Estate Holdings (MVREH) and Driftwood Capital, in partnership with Merrimac Ventures, the $350 million hospitality-driven complex will rise along the Miami River with two towers designed by Jon Cardello of CUBE 3 Architects. Gensler is completing the construction documents and interiors are by ICRAVE. Moss Construction is the general contractor, and completion is slated for Fall 2028.

“It is incredibly rewarding for all partners involved in creating this development along the Miami River within the City of Miami and to officially break ground and bring Riverside Wharf to life,” said Alex Mantecon, managing partner of MVREH and co-founder of Breakwater Hospitality Group. “This massive hotel and entertainment complex will transform the Miami River District into one of the most sought-after destinations in South Florida. We are confident it will set the ultimate standard for what local residents and visitors alike should expect from waterfront experiences, food and beverage, and entertainment for years to come.”

The nine-story, 200,000 plus square foot project will include a 30,000 square foot nightclub, a rooftop pool dayclub, a 12,000 square foot event hall, multiple dining venues, and 16,000 square feet of signature restaurants. The plans also call for the rebirth and expansion of The Wharf Miami. The development will incorporate a 167 key Dream Miami hotel component.

“Riverside Wharf’s groundbreaking marks a pivotal turning point for the future of the Miami River District, once more solidifying Miami’s standing as a global destination,” said Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez. “Its positive economic impact and caliber of exciting new experiences will be second to none. I look forward to its impressive rise and long-standing contribution to the city.”

The development team will construct a new public riverwalk along the project site and implement a sea level rise mitigation initiative that includes a new seawall. A pop up Garcia’s Fish Market will be incorporated to acknowledge the neighborhood’s historic fishing culture.

“With Miami continuing to exceed expectations and attract talent, wealth, and world-class hospitality, Riverside Wharf will serve as an all-encompassing experiential landmark for all who pass through the city,” said Carlos Rodriguez Jr., COO of Driftwood Capital. “We are proud to contribute to this unique development and further the Miami River District’s evolution through an outstanding assortment of culinary, hospitality, and operational expertise.”

The Miami River District is undergoing steady transformation with Riverside Wharf joining several planned mixed-use and residential projects in the surrounding area.
