Residence Inn Sunny Isles Beach has completed a full-property renovation, marking a new chapter for the 194-room hotel located at 17700 Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach. The project reintroduces the property as a residence-style hotel with refreshed interiors and updated amenities, while maintaining the space and functionality associated with the extended-stay brand.

The renovation was guided by a Botanical Luxe design concept and led by Jacki Arena Interiors. Design updates incorporate warm green tones, natural textures, rich wood finishes, and sculptural lighting throughout the hotel. Inspired by South Florida’s coastal landscape, the refreshed interiors balance organic materials with refined detailing across guest rooms and shared spaces.

“This renovation represents a complete reintroduction of our hotel,” said Kevin Waldstein, General Manager of Residence Inn Sunny Isles Beach.

“Our goal is for guests to leave feeling confident they made the right choice. The updated design allows us to deliver an elevated experience that encourages guests to return again and again, while still feeling truly at home during their stay.”

Completed in November 2025, the renovation encompassed all guest rooms, the lobby and public areas, meeting spaces, fitness center, dining venues, and the rooftop pool deck. The project marks the property’s first comprehensive refresh since opening in 2017. The redesigned lobby features botanical textures, curated artwork, and residential-style seating, with views extending toward the Sunny Isles skyline and the Atlantic Ocean.

A central component of the renovation is the expanded rooftop pool deck, which remains the only rooftop pool experience in Sunny Isles Beach. The upgraded deck includes new loungers, private cabanas, daybeds, landscaped areas, and dedicated gathering spaces designed for relaxation and sunset views. The rooftop level also includes Ocean View on Nine, the hotel’s full-service restaurant and bar, offering dine-in and to-go options, craft cocktails, and poolside service.

Guest rooms continue to feature condo-style layouts with fully equipped kitchenettes, including full-size refrigerators and freezers, cookware, dinnerware, glassware, and silverware. Updated furnishings, improved lighting, additional power outlets, and multifunctional tables support both short-term and extended stays, with layouts designed to accommodate work and leisure.

As the only Marriott-branded property in Sunny Isles Beach, the hotel serves extended-stay guests, families, business and relocation travelers, pre- and post-cruise visitors, and leisure travelers seeking a residential-style stay. Amenities include a fitness center, onsite meeting spaces, complimentary daily breakfast, beach club access with chairs and towels, and proximity to grocery stores, parks, and retail destinations.

“Sunny Isles Beach continues to grow as a year-round destination, and this renovation reflects our commitment to meeting that demand,” said Robert Finvarb, Owner of Residence Inn Sunny Isles Beach.

“We wanted to deliver a product that stands apart in the market; one that offers the space and functionality guests need, paired with a more elevated, lifestyle-driven experience.”

The hotel is located within walking distance of the beach and a short drive from Aventura Mall, Bal Harbour Shops, Oleta River State Park, Newport Fishing Pier, and nearby medical and business centers.

  1. SIB has some of the best buildings, but also some of the worst in Great Miami. With a cluttered facade that looks like it has boarded-up, broken window panes after a hurricane, this falls under the latter.
