Construction is progressing and advancing toward completion on the $145 million patient tower expansion at AdventHealth Winter Garden, located at 2000 Fowler Grove Boulevard in Winter Garden, Florida. The vertical expansion is designed by HuntonBrady Architects and is being built by Brasfield & Gorrie. The project is part of a broader $188.2 million campus investment that also includes a new standalone Cancer Institute designed by ESa, also known as Earl Swensson Associates.

The primary component of the expansion involves adding three new floors atop the existing four-story hospital structure, increasing the total height to seven stories. The tower addition will introduce approximately 105,000 square feet of new clinical and inpatient space.

The expansion adds 80 inpatient beds, with 40 beds delivered upon opening and an additional 40 constructed as shell space for future activation. This phased delivery strategy allows the hospital to scale capacity in the coming years without requiring major structural expansion. Upon completion, the hospital’s total licensed capacity will increase to 176 beds.

A full floor within the expansion is dedicated to women’s services, marking the first time labor and delivery will be offered at the Winter Garden campus. The new level will include nine labor and delivery beds, 10 postpartum beds, and two cesarean section operating rooms. The floor plan also incorporates designated future space for a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing for expanded maternal and infant care services as demand grows.

The patient tower reached structural topping out in July 2025. Current on-site activity consists of interior build-outs, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system installation, and final exterior enclosure work. Completion of the tower is scheduled for September 2026.

In parallel with the tower expansion, AdventHealth is developing a separate 60,000-square-foot Cancer Institute on the same campus. The $43.2 million facility will provide radiation oncology, medical oncology, PET imaging, and a dedicated wellness component branded as the Eden Spa and Boutique, which offers specialized post-mastectomy and chemotherapy support services. The Cancer Institute is expected to open in July 2026.

Together, the two projects will add approximately 165,000 square feet of new medical space to the campus and are projected to create more than 100 new medical and support positions.

Originally opened in 2016, AdventHealth Winter Garden was designed to accommodate phased vertical growth. This latest expansion increases inpatient capacity, introduces new specialty services including labor and delivery, and further positions the campus as a comprehensive medical hub serving West Orange County and the Horizon West area.
