MG Developer has closed a $23 million refinancing loan for the five-story, 176-key Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta, located at 1000 NW 42nd Avenue in Miami. The loan was secured through Interaudi Bank, a New York-based financial institution active in commercial real estate lending nationwide.

According to the developer, the refinancing restructures the hotel’s long-term capital stack and provides additional flexibility for potential future development on excess land at the site. The property sits within the Miami Airport submarket, an area experiencing continued infrastructure investment and redevelopment activity.

Nearby, Miami Freedom Park is under development as a 131-acre mixed-use destination combining sports, entertainment, office, and public green space. The hotel is also located near the future stadium and training complex for Inter Miami CF, which is expected to begin hosting matches in April 2026. These projects are anticipated to increase hospitality demand within the surrounding area.

“Securing support from a New York-based institution such as Interaudi Bank’s is a clear vote of confidence in our asset management approach as well as our long-term vision for the property,” said Alirio Torrealba, CEO of MG Developer. “As Miami’s status for culture, finance, sports, and entertainment continues to attract business and leisure travelers from around the world, hospitality will play an important role in offering an elevated experience that adequately reflects the city’s position on the global stage.”

Originally completed in 1982, the hotel includes a pool, bar, and fitness center. The property is located less than five minutes from the Dolphin Expressway and approximately 10 minutes from Miami International Airport, as well as the airport’s Tri-Rail and Metrorail stations, which provide regional connectivity throughout Miami-Dade County and South Florida.
