Construction has started on a high-rise development that will replace the Chase Suite Hotel in Tampa Bay.
The Kimball at Rocky Point will rise 14 stories above grade and host 296 luxury residences, including studio to three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Select top-floor residences will come outfitted with private rooftop decks. The units, described as “contemporary,” are intended to appeal to young entrepreneurs, growing families, and work-from-home professionals.
Future residents of The Kimball at Rocky Point will enjoy a suite of on-site amenities focused on wellness, the waterfront, and work-from-home space. Key features include an expansive resort-style swimming pool and deck, pickleball and sand volleyball courts, and a double-height fitness center. A standout feature includes the private 14-slip marina.

Northwood Ravin is the developer. The Charlotte-based firm purchased The Kimball’s build site for $21.5 million in 2024. As noted, the site currently hosts the now-defunct 160-key Chase Suite Hotel. The 1980s-era building is set for demolition in the coming weeks.
Cline Construction is the general contractor. EM Structural is the structural engineer.
The Kimball at Rocky Point is planned for the 4.58-acre site at 3075 N Rocky Point Dr E, Tampa, Florida, in Hillsborough County.
