A New York-based developer has plans for what could be the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale – exceeding the city’s tallest building by 146 feet. Here’s what could be in store.
On October 27th, the Fort Lauderdale Development Review Committee will consider a proposal for a 56-story tower that would comprise 1.06 million square feet of new construction. The mixed-use venture would include both residential and commercial aspects.

Specifically, there would be 696 residences measuring about 550 to 1,170 square feet. Floorplans would include six options, with the smallest units being studios and the largest units being three-bedroom units with dens. Residents would have access to three levels of amenities; offerings would include two swimming pools, including one on the rooftop.
In addition to the homes, there would be 7,400 square feet of commercial space and 696 parking spots. NE 2nd Holdings is the developer. The firm presently has the tower’s 0.71-acre build site under contract. The site features a parking lot and warehouse. FSMY Architects + Planners is the architect. KEITH is the planning firm.
If approved, the 645-foot-tall tower would occupy 117, 115, and 109 N.E. 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33301, in Broward County.
