A partnership led by Gencom and Miami-based White Bridge Capital has acquired the 34-story, 652-key InterContinental Miami at 100 Chopin Plaza in Downtown Miami. The waterfront hotel stands at the confluence of the Miami River and Biscayne Bay, immediately south of Bayfront Park and near Miami’s Central Business District and Brickell.
The property was acquired from Strategic Hotels & Resorts. Terms of the transaction were not officially disclosed, although the sale price has been reported at approximately $300 million.

The acquisition expands Gencom’s portfolio of hospitality properties in South Florida and marks its second InterContinental-branded hotel, following the acquisition of the InterContinental New York Times Square in late 2025.
“InterContinental Miami is a significant addition to Gencom’s portfolio and represents an important opportunity to deepen our presence in one of the most dynamic and globally recognized markets in the country,” said Alessandro Colantonio, Chief Investment Officer at Gencom. “We have built a substantial footprint across some of Miami’s most prominent hospitality and mixed-use destinations. Adding the InterContinental Miami further strengthens the portfolio and gives us an exceptional waterfront asset in the heart of Downtown Miami, a location that we believe will continue to benefit from the city’s long-term economic growth.”
The InterContinental Miami contains 652 guest rooms, including 22 suites ranging from approximately 850 square feet to 2,800-square-foot Presidential and Royal Suites. Standard accommodations average approximately 405 square feet and overlook Biscayne Bay and the surrounding Miami skyline.

The hotel recently underwent a comprehensive renovation encompassing guest rooms, furnishings, finishes, and technology, along with upgrades to the Club InterContinental Lounge, pool cabanas, and SkyLawn outdoor event space.
“Given the recently completed renovation, we can focus on strengthening revenue across rooms, meetings and events, and dining while building on the enhanced guest experience in a market with substantial barriers to entry, the latter of which continues to be a key theme in the firm’s broader investment strategy,” said Ignasi Puig, Managing Director of Acquisitions at Gencom. “Given the recently completed renovation, we can focus on strengthening revenue across rooms, meetings and events, and dining while building on the enhanced guest experience in a market with substantial barriers to entry, the latter of which continues to be a key theme in the firm’s broader investment strategy.”
The building is also distinguished by its 200-foot-tall, 19-story digital canvas extending across two sides of the exterior. The installation incorporates programmable LED lighting capable of displaying animations and artwork across the tower facade and has been part of the Downtown Miami skyline since a major renovation completed in the early 2010s.
Inside, the property contains 35 meeting rooms and more than 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Amenities include a rooftop pool with private cabanas, a spa, fitness center, business center, Club InterContinental Lounge, and on-site retail.
The hotel’s food-and-beverage program includes Toro Toro, a Pan-Latin steakhouse by chef Richard Sandoval, along with Bluewater, Ole, Starbucks, and Freddy’s Speakeasy.
White Bridge Capital and its international family office partners contributed a significant portion of the equity for the acquisition, continuing a partnership with Gencom across hospitality investments.
“Our partnership with Gencom reflects our commitment to pursuing extremely unique investment opportunities alongside best-in-class sponsors who share our vision for unlocking the full potential of exceptional assets.”
“This transaction is a strong reflection of White Bridge Capital’s investment philosophy and that of our family office partners, centered on investing in irreplaceable assets with strong long-term fundamentals in premier gateway markets,” added Regina Garcia Handal, Chief Investment Officer of White Bridge Capital.
The acquisition adds to Gencom’s existing Miami hospitality portfolio, which includes The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove. Gencom co-developed the 423-key Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and recently completed a renovation of the oceanfront resort valued at more than $100 million. The firm also reacquired a majority interest in the 115-key Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove in December 2025.
Gencom is simultaneously advancing Miami Riverbridge in partnership with Hyatt approximately several blocks west along the Miami River. The more than $1.5 billion mixed-use redevelopment of the Hyatt Regency Miami and James L. Knight Center site is planned with a 615-room Hyatt Regency hotel, a 280-room lifestyle hotel, 686 rental apartments, approximately 200,000 square feet of meeting space, 110,000 square feet of commercial space, and 50,000 square feet of newly created outdoor public space.
The Riverbridge development will also reconstruct nearly 500 feet of the Miami Riverwalk and introduce new waterfront retail, dining, and public areas along the riverfront.
