Lake Flores is where “working, playing, and enjoying life meet.” The mixed-use development in West Bradenton, Florida, will rest on a lot measuring more than 1,000 acres. The development will deliver 6,500 homes, according to the Herald Tribune. Plans also call for three million square feet of retail, office, and industrial space. There will also be 500 hotel rooms and a 19-acre lake.
The multi-million-dollar project will come in phases. Sources report that construction on phase one could start in March 2023. Manatee County commissioners initially approved the project in 2015. The community development district will spend millions on providing the infrastructure the project needs, including a stormwater management system, onsite roadway, and various other utilities.
At this time, information about the residential amenities is limited. However, conceptual renderings show a multi-modal trail, town center, and on-site parking. The multi-modal trail will connect the community’s main street with other neighborhoods in the area.
Whiting Preston owns the venture. The president of Manatee Fruit Company is working on another development in the area that will measure 360 acres and comprise 1,950 residences. ZNS Engineering LLC is the civil engineer. The Bradenton-based firm has 45 active projects throughout Florida.
Sources list Lake Flores’ address as 7500 Cortez Road West, Bradenton, Florida, 34210, in Manatee County.

Please let me know when they begin home construction there and who the builders will be.
Thank you.
It would be nice if they added sewers on the adjacent street 86st w to get those homes off of septic. It should have been part of the requirements to build such a large project. Just think how much traffic will be trying to get to AMI
It would be great to extend 53 Ave. to Longboat Key, via a bridge. With all the planned housing and business, Cortez Road will be unbearable, especially during the Snowbirds season and holidays.
It’s going to be a mess, right now it’s difficult when the snow birds arrive wait until this project is finished.
This whole thing is rubbish!
I’d be interested in start time, builders, communities etc. Does anyone know when construction will start? It was mentioned that start date would be around March 2023. I don’t believe it has started. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Will the residents be rentals, condos or single family? IThe idea of a bridge to longboat sounds great! Although congestion on the other end(AM Island and the keys) is already building.
Good reason for leaving Manatee County
