Sources report that a new multi-family development is slated for Okaloosa County in North Florida. Get the Coast calls the neighborhood “Forest Shore Villas.” Per NWF Daily News, the community will offer 53 rental villas on a 10-acre plot.
Each one-story home will measure approximately 928 square feet. They stand 20 feet tall, “16 feet wide, and 58 feet deep.” Units come with two parking spots each, and there will be 22 guest spots. That makes for about 128 spots total.
Okaloosa County’s City Commission unanimously approved the project in May 2022. Something unique about this project is that homes will be rented out under the purview of a single entity. While the homes will be rented out, the community will operate as a standard single-family house development.
What’s more, the venture will comprise about 71 percent of “landscaped areas, stormwater retention facilities and wetland preservation areas.” That is 50 percent more than the minimum open space requirement.
Forest Shores Villas LLC, a Niceville-based firm, owns the venture. Forest Shore Villas is located near Emerald Pointe, a community that features similar-sized homes. That makes it south of U.S. Highway 98 and east of Forest Shores Drive.
