The Doris is a razor-thin mid-story building proposed for Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. But what is it? Our sources indicate that the Doris could comprise just over 20,000 square feet of new construction, comprising primarily office and retail space.
The eight-story building would offer offices measuring 3,994 square feet, and each one featuring an outdoor terrace. If approved by the Wynwood Design Review Board, the Doris could start construction either this year or next year.
The developer purchased the vacant build site for $2.5 million in October 2022. While Lombardi Properties filed the application, Bayshore Investment Partners owns the property. Deforma Studio is the architect.
The Construction Journal reports that the Coral Gables-based firm presently has one active project. It’s unclear whether those records refer to the Doris. The Doris is just one of many office buildings proposed in South Florida. In January 2023, Florida YIMBY learned of a similar venture proposed by the Related Company of Florida.
Stephen Ross proposed two office building requiring close to one million square feet of new construction––about 430,000 square feet each, per the Real Deal. If approved, the Doris would be located at 153 N.W. 25th Street, Miami, Florida, 33127, in Miami-Dade County.
