Our sources point to an evolving housing development in Tallahassee, Florida. Ekos Magnolia Oaks is a garden-style housing community offering affordable housing to those making 33 percent to 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). In 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that the AMI for Tallahassee was $49,077 a year.
Ekos Magnolia Oaks will offer 110 housing units on a 6.8-acre lot. The homes will be spread across five-low rise buildings, ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom layout plans. There will be 30 one-bedroom homes, 65 two-bedroom homes, and 15 three-bedroom apartments.
Per McDowell, homes with come spacious kitchens, granite countertops, vinyl plank flooring, and in-unit washer/dryer hookups. Residential amenities include a free-standing clubhouse that will include a media center and game room. Outdoor amenities include a children’s playground and swimming pool.
Documents note that despite supply chain issues, the venture started construction in the third quarter of 2021. It’s expected to deliver units by the end of the third quarter of 2023. Ekos Magnolia Oaks will cost close to $25 million to complete.
