Oakland Park’s Development Review Committee will review a proposal for Cypress Crossing tomorrow, May 23rd. The mixed-use venture would replace a park-and-ride lot, comprising three buildings: one eight-story building and two 7,500-square-foot retail buildings.
According to the South Florida Business Journal, the mid-rise building would offer 286 apartments, measuring 428 to 1,111 square feet each. Floorplans range from studio to three-bedroom units, with communal amenities featuring a dog park, kids’ room, fitness center, and 4,414 square feet of coworking space.
There would also be an interior atrium with a ground floor swimming pool. Aside from the residential aspect, Cypress Crossing would have 8,400 square feet of retail––not included in the two retail buildings mentioned earlier. Plans also call for more than 700 parking spots, 52 of which would offer electrical vehicle charging hook-ups.
If Oakland Park city officials approve Cypress Crossing, it would be developed on an 8.5-acre lot that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has leased to Cypress Creek Leaseholder LLC, the project’s applicant. Behar Font Partners is the architect, and WGI is the planning firm.
Cypress Crossing could replace the park-and-ride lot located at “west side of Interstate 95 and Cypress Creek Road,” Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33309, in Broward County.
