A Southwest Ranches-based developer has filed a pre-application regarding a 0.36-acre site in Miami-Dade County’s Glenwood Heights/Brownsville neighborhood.
The unnamed affordable housing complex would measure three stories above grade and offer 46 one-bedroom apartments, measuring 460 to 612 square feet. There would be no major on-site amenities, but plans call for a rooftop garden deck.
U.G. Investments LLC purchased the now-vacant site for $190,000 in 2018. The developer does not appear to be seeking approval under the Live Local Act. The three-story complex is not the only affordable housing project proposed for Miami-Dade County.
Recently, Florida YIMBY reported on an 11-story venture proposed by NuRock, a Georgia-based developer. The project would comprise 130 units, reserved for residents earning up to 50 percent of the area median income. Unlike U.G. Investments LLC’s project, floorplans would span one-bedroom to three-bedroom layouts, and the amenities would be much more expansive.
Another affordable housing complex Florida YIMBY reported on was The Arcadian. Located in nearby Fort Lauderdale, that venture would measure eight stories and offer 478 residential units and commercial space. The project is already under construction and is expected to finish in 20 months.
U.G. Investments LLC has proposed its three-story project for Northwest 30th Court and Northwest 54th Street, Brownsville, FL, 33142, in Miami-Dade County.
