Two developers have secured approval for a mixed-use project on the former site of an AT&T training center in Broward County. Plantation City Center will occupy a 13.7-acre site and comprise more than 860,000 square feet of new construction.
The South Florida Business Journal shares that upon completion, the venture will offer 512 residences, with 51 reserved for those earning up to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI). City records note that the median household income in Broward County is $70,331 a year. Communal amenities will include two swimming pools, a children’s playground, pickleball court, and more.
The residences will be divided between eight-story mid-rise, five three-story multifamily buildings, and a section with two-story townhomes. Aside from the residential aspect, plans call for 24,970 square feet of commercial space and 833 parking spots. Related Group and BH Group are the developers.
The Real Deal notes that the developers previously wanted Plantation City Center to feature 481 homes, more than 20,000 square feet of commercial space, and 993 parking spots. The South Florida-based developers purchased the build site for $13 million in 2023. Arquitectonica is the architect. Plantation City Center will be located at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., Plantation, Florida, 33322, in Broward County.
