Shawmut Design and Construction and Clearline Real Estate have officially broken ground on 2000 Wynwood, a 12-story, 380,000-square-foot mixed-use development at 2000 North Miami Avenue in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. The project will yield 310 residential units, 12,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, 308 parking spaces, and 141 bike racks along a walkable, transit-connected corridor known for its art, culture, and nightlife.

Designed by LEO A DALY with Langan Engineering and landscape architect Naturalficial, the building emphasizes wellbeing, rightsizing, and energy efficiency, offering a modern approach to community living. Residents will have access to amenities including an art studio, fitness center, coworking and conference space, and a courtyard pool area. A multi-functional lounge will combine a game room, social space, and clubhouse.

“Shawmut is excited to break ground on 2000 Wynwood, a building designed to match the energy and serve the residents of one of Miami’s most creative and high-growth areas,” said Alexis Leal, head of Shawmut’s Florida operations. “Shawmut is proud to build on our 25-year legacy of contributing to Miami’s evolving landscape.”

The groundbreaking ceremony on August 8 was attended by Miami District 4 Commissioner Ralph Rosado, Jenny Bernell, CEO of Clearline Real Estate, Alexis Leal, and members of the project team. Representatives from the offices of Miami-Dade County Mayor Levine Cava and Commissioners Pardo and Hardemon (Districts 2 and 3) were also present.

2000 Wynwood marks the second collaboration between Shawmut and Clearline. Last month, the two firms celebrated the topping off of Excel Miami, a 24-story residential tower in the Arts & Entertainment District. Shawmut’s growing Florida portfolio also includes Town Vineland in Orlando, Manor Miramar in Miramar, Apogee Club in Hobe Sound, Waterway Café in Palm Beach, and renovations at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North.

Clearline Real Estate, a 100% woman-owned firm headquartered in New York and Miami, currently has approximately 1,200 multifamily units in its Miami pipeline. Shawmut Design and Construction, a $2 billion employee-owned construction management firm, operates 11 offices nationwide, including Miami and West Palm Beach.
