Two New 7-Elevens Coming to Ocala, FL, in Hillsborough County

For a while, 7-Eleven was the king of convenience stores. With its hot-case items, fresh pastries, and iconic Slurpees, it virtually had no competition. However, as Wawa gains traction, 7-Eleven is seeking to expand its customer base by adding new locations throughout Florida, including Immokalee and Coral Springs.

Plans are also in the works for two 7-Elevens in Ocala, FL. Both of the ventures in total will cost an estimated $2.3 million to complete, according to the Construction Journal. The first new location is at 2811 Northwest 10th Street in Ocala, FL. This one is the more expensive of the two, costing $1.3 million total.

This location will feature a supermarket, car wash, and several filling stations––all of which will require new construction. 7-Eleven Corporate Headquarters is, of course, managing the project. The multi-billion-dollar company presently has 261 active projects, mostly in the private commercial sector. Most of its ventures are either in operations or presently undergoing construction.

The other Ocala location, situated at Southeast Maricamp Road and Southeast 25th Avenue, will cost $1 million to build and require over 4,700 square feet of new construction. This location will also have a car crash, measuring one story above grade and requiring 980 square feet of new construction.

Only time will tell if 7-Eleven is able to maintain its foothold in the gas and convenience store industry. Presently, according to Business Insider, 7-Eleven has more than 60,000 stores worldwide, while Wawa only has 800 stores along the American west coast.
