Construction to Start on ‘Vela at Cotee River Landing’ Next Year at 7944 Bayview St, Port Richey, FL

The Kruger Group, an Ohio-based developer, intends to move forward with an expansive mixed-use development in Pasco County.

Vela at Cotee River Landing is slated to comprise residences, commercial space, and public greenspace. In the first phase, plans call for 100 residences measuring two and three stories; the second phase will yield 140 residences and 24,000 square feet of commercial space.

In total, Vela at Cotee River Landing will comprise 16 apartment buildings and yield a total of 240 units. Residents would have access to various recreational amenities, including a swimming pool and clubhouse. There would also be 426 parking spots for both residents and visitors to the commercial space.

Completion of the homes is slated for summer 2027. Additional features of the multi-million-dollar project include a 33,000-square-foot boardwalk, 3,700 square feet of event space, and 1.7 acres of “open space.”

Vela at Cotee River Landing will occupy four parcels measuring 8.5 acres. The Kruger Group purchased the mostly vacant assemblage for $15.7 million in early 2025. Prior to the start of construction, the developer must secure various rezoning permits. AODK is the architect.
