Kinect Miami is just one part of the larger Miami Worldcenter, one of Miami-Dade County’s biggest mixed-use ventures. The project comprises two towers, one measuring 39 stories and the other 79 stories. In total, the venture will yield more than one million square feet of new construction.

Phase One (the 39-story building) will offer 450 “micro-units.” For reference, micro-units are generally under 500 square feet and are usually studios. The Next Miami reports that many of these units will not offer balconies or outdoor space. Phase Two (the 79-story building) will offer 468 units. Unlike its counterpart, it offers normal-sized units.

Akara Partners––Chicago owns the project. The Chicago-based developer has been planning this project for years. It currently has three active projects, one of which is Kinect Cleveland in Ohio. On the Miami endeavor, it partnered with Perkins & Will, the architect.

The Coral Gables-based organization shared conceptual renderings with multiple news outlets. Renderings show two high-rise buildings with glass exteriors that reflect Miami’s blue skies. Savino & Miller Design Studio worked on the streetscape improvements and amenity deck.

Kinect Miami puts a big emphasis on walkability. It even offers more parking spots for bicycles than it does for cars. Both buildings are located in downtown Miami along Northeast 2nd Avenue.
