Amazon has secured a property in Rivera Beach, FL, for a new 4.45-acre distribution center. This is just months after Amazon proposed the construction of a new fulfillment sunrise in Sunrise, a mere hour south.
Amazon is planning other distribution centers nationwide as it meets the growing demand for e-commerce. There are already two distribution centers located in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. There is one currently underway in Jupiter.
Thirteenth Street LLC bought the property for $8.5 million, which is nearly three times what the lot sold for back in 2018. Shortly after making the purchase, the developers entered into a “unity agreement” with nearby warehouses that will lease the space to Amazon.
Since the project is just beginning, there is no information regarding the construction costs or operations date. Ideally, it will be up and running within the next year or so. The South Florida Business Journal notes that not only will the project expand Amazon’s distribution reach, but it will also increase jobs. Amazon intends to pay its workers $15/hour once the project completes.
The distribution’s physical address is 900 W. 13th St. in Rivera Beach, FL,33404. It will be located in Palm Beach County, Florida. In terms of proximity, the development is in a largely industrial area, as it is located conveniently next to Monarch Shipping Company Ltd. and Mullins Lumber. It’s also near Lincoln Elementary School.
