In 2016, Banyan Development Group LLC proposed plans for two housing communities that provided 224-low income housing units. Now, nearly five years after returning to the drawing board, the organization has a new project underway: Barnett Villas Family Gardens.
The affordable housing complex seeks to provide 156 units spread across five, three-story buildings. Prospective residents can choose from 60 one-bedroom units, 84 two-bedroom units, and 12-three bedroom units, per the Orlando Business Journal. The rent-restricted community will comprise 10 acres of land and include a clubhouse, maintenance building, and mall kiosk.
The Construction Journal reports that the project is presently “seeking zoning variances” and is in the “site acquisition” phase. There’s no word yet on the cost of construction. However, we do know that DRMP Inc. is the project’s civil engineer.
Barnett Villas Family Gardens has one goal: to provide housing to those living in Central Florida. According to WFTV, a local news station: “The real estate market in Central Florida is seeing massive demand, and there aren’t enough homes to meet it.” Developers hope to ease the housing crisis by planning multi-family homes, affordable communities, and single-family residences.
Barnett Villas Family Gardens’ physical address is listed as 817 Swiss Lane, Pine Hills, FL, 32808. It will be located in Orange County.
