Neology Life Development Group Breaks Ground On Their 14-Story ‘The Julia’ Residential Tower In Allapattah

Neology Life Development Group, led by real estate developer Lissette Calderon, has broken ground on The Julia, a 14-story mixed-use building set to rise at 1625 Northwest 20th Street in Allapattah. Designed by Coral Gables-based Behar Font & Partners, the new structure will soon go vertical on a 73,442-square-foot interior lot nestled in between Northwest 15th and 17th Avenues, with Northwest 21st Street on the north. The project is named after Miami’s founder, Julia Tuttle, and is planned to yield approximately 426,000 square feet of new construction including 323 residential units, 15,000 square feet of ground floor retail, and 336 parking spaces.

Formerly named 16 Allapattah, the Behar Font-designed building will resemble the Art Deco style embracing the 1950s glam, aiming for a colorful look combining tropical designs and a metropolitan feel.

The Julia will offer a blend of one and two bedroom units, ranging from 600 to 1,00 square feet. Interiors will be designed by designBAR, featuring energy efficient, stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, European-inspired cabinetry, in-home washer and dryers, expansive views, and balconies in all units. Amenities will  will include a ninth-floor Sky Lounge with resort-style pool deck, clubroom, and wellness center, and 15,000 square feet of street-level retail space. Common areas will include colorful mosaics and bright, botanical-patterned wall coverings.

Neology locked in a $78,197,393 construction loan via Ben Jacobson of Trez Capital, brokered by Berkadia.

JAXI Builders, Inc. is listed as the general contractor for the development.

Completion is scheduled for mid-2023.
