Heron Ridge is moving toward its construction phase in Osceola County, the community’s official website reports. Construction will start in December 2021 and will ideally end in fall 2023. It’s owned by Dominium, Inc., which has 12 active projects. The age-restricted community will offer just over 330 units. It’s available for seniors (62 years and older) who make less than 60 percent of the area’s median income.
The Orlando Business Journal reports that there are 157 one-bedroom units, 142 two-bedroom units, and 32 three-bedroom units. Bottom-floor apartments come with patios, and upper-floor apartments come with balconies.
The community comprises buildings measuring 4 stories above grade.
In-unit amenities include vinyl wood-plank flooring, washers and dryers, granite countertops, and central air conditioning. Communal amenities include a beauty salon, theater, fitness center, swimming pool, grilling pavilions, and more.
This project has one goal: to provide affordable housing to seniors living in Central Florida. The Orlando Business Journal reports that as of November 2021, Osceola County had over 375,751 seniors, many of whom could not afford housing in the area. The publication also notes that the venture will create local jobs.
Heron Ridge is expected to open fall 2023.
The venture’s expected to cost around $96 million to complete. Heron Ridge’s address is 4351 Little Egret Road, Kissimmee, FL, 34746. Apartments.com notes that it’s 33 minutes away from Orlando International Airport.
