Acclaimed international landscape designer Enzo Enea of Enea Landscape Architecture has been tapped to design the tropical gardens of La Baia, an 8-story luxury boutique bay front condominium development slated to rise at 9201 East Bay Harbor Drive in the southeastern tip of Bay Harbor Islands. Designed by Revuelta Architecture International and developed by the Continuum Company, the 68-unit project is situated on the intracoastal waterway and minutes from the world-renowned South Florida beaches and the Shops at Bal Harbour. Enea is designing a series of spaces including the arrival and private marina access, third level breezeway garden and the roof level amenity terraces.

The arrival experience features a cobblestone driveway surrounded by lush evergreen plantings and a tranquil lily pond that leads to the lobby entrance. Tropical canopy trees provide blooms of color that create visual interest throughout various times of the year. Potted Calamondin Orange trees frame the lobby doorways with subtle but fragrant white blooms. Residents will be able to access the private marina through garden pathways that lead to cozy lawn openings along the bay.

The third-level breezeway garden offers residents a covered contemplative seating area and a lawn for a morning yoga session or an afternoon family gathering. Residents can also enjoy beautiful views of Indian Creek under a vine covered pergola surrounded by potted Citrus trees

The roof level amenity terrace provides breath-taking elevated views of the Atlantic Ocean and beyond. The north “family terrace” includes a semi-covered pergola with cascading vines above a summer kitchen, dining areas and a children’s play area with an interactive splash pad and water wall as well as a lawn area with swings. The main pool is centrally located and includes a sundeck with loungers on the west side to maximize the sunbathing experience. Alternate seating is also provided underneath Pitch Apple trees for more sun protection. The south “adult terrace” is designed with event, entertaining, and lounging in mind. A tropical heated soaking spa is located within lush plantings for added privacy, positioned to enjoy the views of the coastal skyline. Other spaces include an event lawn, seating nooks along the edge of the glass to enjoy the views, and a semi covered summer kitchen, dining and lounge areas under cascading flowering vines.

“We are so pleased to collaborate with Enzo on La Baia, Bay Harbor Islands,” said Eichner, the founder of The Continuum Company, LLC.  “No one understands tropical design better. He wants to ensure that our residents enjoy the private marina with its splendid garden setting bursting with color and fragrance that create pleasure throughout the year.

“La Baia’s landscape design is carefully curated and will incorporate the tropical elements of its genius loci (spirit of the place),” said Enea. “The spaces throughout the property will feature large leaved tropical foliage accompanied by flowering trees in keeping with La Baia’s unspoiled cove-like setting.”

The 68 luxurious residences will come from one to four bedrooms, spanning between 1,100 to 2,500 square feet, with 20-boat slips and more than 30,000 square feet of resort-style amenities.  A private enclave, La Baia offers world-class waterfront living set against a backdrop of the beautiful Biscayne Bay and Miami’s ever-evolving tower-filled skyline. Sales are being exclusively handled by Pgutman LLC, headed by Phil Gutman, with units starting from $810,000.

Suffolk Construction is listed as the general contractor.

La Baia is slated for completion and delivery in November 2023.
