New Venture to Jumpstart Little River’s Creativity Located at 75 Northwest 72nd Street, Miami, FL, 33150

Oolite Arts will soon replace a defunct 18,000-square-foot warehouse in Miami-Dade County, the South Florida Business Journal reports. The new building, which requires more than 30,000 square feet of new construction, will offer free studios to local artists––as well as serve as the organization’s headquarters. The venture hopes to jumpstart the surrounding area, which has seen a huge influx of artists and creators within the last few years.

Oolite Arts (which was formerly known as ArtCenter/South Florida), purchased the 27,225-square-foot lot in 2019. The purchase was made possible after Oolite Arts sold one of its properties on Lincoln Road for $88 million, per the New Miami Times.

The art center will replace a defunct warehouse.

Although the project was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, developers hope to open the enterprise in either 2022 or 2023. Upon completion, they hope to provide galleries, studios, and learning opportunities for those living in the Little River area.

One of the biggest aspects about this project is that Barozzi Veiga is the project’s architect. The award-winning firm designed the Art Institute of Chicago. Oolite Arts’ building will range anywhere from one to five stories above grade and costs an estimated $30 million to build.

While the project’s owned by Oolite Arts, Jones | Kroloff serves as the owner’s representative. The Chicago-based enterprise has served clients for more than 20 years. Oolite Arts’ project’s address is 75 Northwest 72nd Street, Miami, FL, 33150, in Miami-Dade County.

  1. Little River. Please edit your story. This location is in Little River. Sometimes the area is called West Little River. But it is NOT the name in your piece.

  2. The building is in Little River.
