Brooks Rehabilitation is opening its second hospital in Jacksonville, FL. The $37 million venture will provide medical care to those recovering from strokes, spinal cord trauma, and other disabling conditions. Construction began on the venture in January 2021, the Construction Journal reports.
The St. Augustine Record notes that as of December 15, 2021, the project was about 80 percent done. It will open in March 2022. The state-of-the-art hospital will provide 60 beds, rise three stories above grade, and require over 70,000 square feet of new construction. It’s owned by Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, which has two active projects: this one and another medical center in St. Augustine.
The new venture is located on a 115-acre campus that’s already home to an assisted living facility, skilled nursing facility, and two memory care facilities. Gresham Smith is the architect, and England-Thims & Miller Inc. is the civil engineer.
Perry-McCall Construction Inc. (Corporate Office) is the general contractor. The Jacksonville-based firm has over 40 active projects costing an estimated $434.2 total.
Brooks Rehabilitation’s address is 6400 Brooks Bartram Drive, Jacksonville, FL, 32258, in Duval County. In terms of proximity, the facility’s west of I-95 and east of the Julington Durbin Creek Nature Preserve.
